Item (26) Radiator Shutters Sticking and Filler Cap.

The bearings of the radiator shutters have been redesigned by W.W., the bottom bearing being spherical. These have been tested and give no sign of sticking. 25-EX. has a radiator fitted up with this design. The complaint on future cars should be eliminated. With the assistance of AJL. a design of rubber washer has been incorporated in the filler cap to prevent the leak of water experienced and complained of. This has been dealt with in Depot Sheet Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}179. For future cars a W.W. design of non-spillable filler cap will be incorporated.

Item (27) Speedometers.

We have received valuable assistance from Archer and Daking dealing with this complaint. The faults pointed out have been taken up to the A.T. Speedometer makers who have replied that these faults will have their full attention. We are hoping that the troubles will decline as a result of these investigations.

Item (28) Rear Axle Oil Leaks.

This complaint has been dealt with by the fitting of a vent hole in the filler plug on the first 100 axles produced. A modification was made on axles since produced which overcame the trouble and should obviate the complaint. There are cases however where the fitting of the vent hole will not cure the trouble owing to the pumping action of the ball race, and in cases where the leak is recurrent the axle should be returned to the works for the modification to be made.

Item (29) Gearbox Oil Leaks.

With the assistance of RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} and Mr. these oil leaks have been overcome and on the present and future cars there should be no complaints. Depot sheets have been issued dealing with the leaks from the change speed housing.

Item (30) Tappets.

No progress.

On the 20/25 HP. an increased oil supply was incorporated to the rocker shaft which should help to quieten the above complaint.
