The question of refilling customers radiators with rain-water when they come in for attention to our various depots and Repair Departments was discussed, and it was decided to approach SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} again for permission to collect at the London Depots, rain-water for the purpose.

It was stated that alkaline waters are generally responsible for the trouble and aor. suggested that careful notes should be made as to the nature of the water used by owners in various districts, in order that these owners might be specially warned of the consequences.

In general, further rain-water propaganda amongst owners and drivers should be made.

Er. raised the question of corroded tubes in the cylinder heads, and it was understood that a new type of tube is being experimented with.

Fabric coupling failures. The Experimental Department is working to find a better method of attachment for material. Er. will send to H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} any noticeably bad examples of fabric which he renews. It transpired that it is doubtful whether this part will last the period of the Guarantee, and it was decided that it would be reasonable to charge customers for repairs after 20,000 miles.

It was thought possible that jaggering clutches tended to shorten the life of these fabric couplings.

Clutch Jaggers and slipping. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} could not hold out much hope of any alteration in design, though H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} is alive to the trouble, which is likely to be much the same on Phantom II cars.

Br.{T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager} considers that the staggered clutch plate has helped. A 50% oil and paraffin mixture is the best dope to use.

Coil Failures. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} reports having dealt with the design of coils. A larger section primary winding is again being used with success, but the secondary winding has now been improved and the whole coil is better. This improved coil is now being used for replacements and time will show its success.

Carburetter Flooding. No further information as to this very prevalent complaint. Trouble is due to a deposit formed by the petrol. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} uses an acid treatment to remove it, and E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} is to adopt the same treatment. It was agreed that the customer could be charged after 20,000 miles.
