BENTLEY EXHAUST SYSTEM. ----------------------- Whilst on LeC.3696 the long pipe with holes in it is specified as Staybrite, when BY/SS.{S. Smith} was checking up in the Experimental Department to make certain precisely what had been used he was informed that the long pipe with the holes in it has been produced in mild steel, and that the short pipe of swaged down design had been produced from Staybrite sheet and welded. We would like to confirm the first item, and further Mr. Hancock has promised to give me the clearance in the sliding joint which for the present I am satisfied should be .005 per side minimum.
