re Bentley Brakes.

Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}6/E25.6.36

Referring to the discussion yesterday, I hope that immediate action will be taken in regard to this matter. I regard it as a very important matter for the reasons which I stated.

I feel that it requires to be dealt with under two headings:

(1). What can we do quickly to reduce the likelihood of the trouble arising on cars already in existence and on production chassis in the near future.

(2). What can we do to eliminate the trouble on future chassis beyond, say, our immediate commitments.

In view of what was said about slackness in certain parts being likely to cause judder and in view of what Hancock found in Paris on several chassis which he looked at, I feel that we ought immediately to issue a Depot Sheet instructing Depots to examine the parts in question and tighten up where necessary on every Bentley car that comes into their hands.

I should be glad, therefore, if immediate action could be taken under this heading.
