To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} ORIGINAL Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}1/WJ.17.6.30. X7223 X7250 Re. Deterioration of Ignition Wires. We are still in trouble with the ignition wires on the exhaust side becoming burnt with the heat from the exhaust manifold and it has been suggested that a shield should be fitted. We are informed by BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} that a scheme - 1191 - was shewn to you whilst you were here but it was not to your liking and you took the drawing away with you, promising to look into it. We wish to fit one on 24-EX for the next 10,000 mile test and should be pleased if you will let us have your scheme as soon as possible as we are hoping to start our test this next week.
