1331 S/W Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} C12/C6.1.39 I enclose copy of letter we have received from The Avon India Rubber Co.Ltd. The name "Phantom" is, of course, registered by us in connection with motor goods. We have no serious objection to Avons using it provided the tyres are really silent. Presumably their idea of calling the tyre the "Avon Phantom" is to suggest silence. Will you please let us have any information you can in regard to the tyre in general and this point in particular.
