Dear Mr.Nichols,

It has occurred to me that a further improvement in the legibility of our new concave dial instruments wouldbe the provision of a front glass concave to the dial instead of flat. One imagines that a certain amount of addtional light would be deflected on to the instrument dial.

Perhaps you could arrange for an experiment to be carried out at your Works to determine this effect.
