Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Swdl. {Len H. Swindell} 1/R.6.9.38.

27.G.VI (No.6. UNIT).

The head off the above car has been removed for inspection and reveals slight cracks on two of the exhaust valve seats.

We should like to machine away the side of the head to show the water space around the seats as discussed with HSP/FS. {F. Steele}

In order to keep the above car running, will you please fit the small valve head (std) allotted by us in our memo Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Swdl. {Len H. Swindell} 7/MH. {M. Huckerby} 2.9.38 to No.9 unit (29.G.VI).

This small valve head should be fitted with standard valves.

Regarding 29.G.VI (No.9 unit) the existing head should be retained and the valves ground in.

Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Swdl. {Len H. Swindell}
