Copy of letter rec'd from:- ROLLS-ROYCE OF AMERICA, INC. WORKS SPRINGFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS LONDON AND DERBY, ENGLAND SPRINGFIELD TELEPHONE 4-3121 October 20th, 1931. Mr. E.W. Hives, Rolls-Royce, Ltd., Derby, England. Dear Hives:- I have your letter of the 3rd and as you have requested I am enclosing some photographs of the completed Phantom-II cars, which I believe you will find very interesting. The four passenger sport model, which we call the Croyden type of coachwork, has met with widespread approval and we have made a few sales of this type. Business conditions have certainly been very bad for quite a long time, but it would seem that there is a slight improvement and we are hoping that by spring things will be very much improved. We have had some difficulties with the chassis and these have been reported by Maintenance to Mr. Wheeler in the regular way and I assume that you are being kept fully advised as to these. With kindest personal regards, I am Sincerely yours, Austin C. Ross Stamp 1: POST RECEIVED 2 NOV 1931 Stamp 2: RECEIVED October | ||
