- 2 - EPL/H27.2.30. Ignition plugs - No.5 B. inlet plug, signs of mica insulation burnt, and was replaced. Gear inspection - all fixing bolts O.K. Slack in the gear did not seem to be definitely worse, but will report difference taken by external measurement after further running. Oil supply jets to the gear dismantled and inspected, and found quite clear. If no engine failure experienced we should finish the 100 hours endurance test of this engine by Monday night, March 3rd. (i.e. the date promised) and should have the engine dismantled for rough inspection on Tuesday morning, March 4th. To complete the type test, however, various special tests have to be carried out, which it was arranged should be done by the Experimental Dept. on other engines. It is necessary, therefore, that the question of getting these tests completed should be urgently considered, i.e. inclination tests, water flow tests, fire proof and back-fire tests, 100 starts etc. EP.{G.
