To deal with the complaint by Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} that the balls of the servo cam levers indent the cam surfaces when in the brake off position, we send herewith N.Sch.4713 which shows a close fitting bronze bush substituted for the steel ball retaining sleeve in the bore of the innermost lever. The object of the bush is to reduce the relative movement of the levers laterally due to vibration of the box. The bush will not reduce rotational movement due to vibration, but we understand that the experimental provision of a stop on the gearbox to check this movement has not improved matters. The bush should not affect the efficiency of the cam levers as there is almost no unbalanced load, and the outer lever is still floating. The bush has to work dry of course. We prefer not to use Oilite at this stage. HDY.{William Hardy} | ||
