-------------------
From the experience that Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} has had with the soft gears, that is, 3½% Nickel Steel, with a Brinell Hardness of 321, which are "digging in", it is evident that for the start, at any rate, we must work on hard gears.

Will you therefore kindly arrange to alter the material on the drawing from 3½% Nickel Steel to 5% C.H.N.S.

Will Sft.{Mr Swift} kindly let us know what his prospects are, now that the material is altered, of getting quiet straight cut spur gears.

If this is going to be difficult, we will put in hand some helical cut case hardened gears.
