S/W Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X3808 C10/C27.9.26. I understand that Paris, in connection with a serious complaint of heating inside the rear of the car, after attending to the floor boards and getting them properly fitted, etc. and screwing them down securely, completely covered the rear silencer with a jacket made of thin asbestos between two sheets of thin tin plate, leaving an air space of about 1/2" between this casing and the silencer itself. This appears to have been entirely satisfactory for the purpose in question and did not appear to affect the cooling of the silencer, and apparently carried the heated air to the end of the chassis, without entering the body. Will you please let me know if you have any objection to this scheme, and whether it is likely to adversely affect the chassis. C. | ||
