TO HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} ORIGINAL 40/50. STEERING. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}3/M31.3.26. X8430 X8500 Thank you for your HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/LG27326. We are now engaged in the design of a stiffening bracket which we hope will be suitable for standardisation. In order that we may be quite sure what we are doing however we should be much obliged if you could send us a print, if you have it, of the temporary scheme you rigged up, the object being to see how far up the dashboard it extended, and what was its position in reference to the existing dash brackets, because we think that this may give us an idea of the way in which it is contributing to the stiffness. We can see for instance that if it is doing what we imagined it was in the first case, the bracket which simply joins up with the present dash bracket, using the same bolts through the dashboard, ought to be sufficient without going on to the frame at all.
