To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/LG14.6.28. +438 CLAUDEL HOBSON PETROL GAUGE. With reference to the standardisation of this gauge on the 20 HP. We attach a letter we have received from Major Searight and 2 blue prints shewing schemes for fitting this gauge on the 20 HP. When fitting the gauges retrospectively, it will of course be the simplest to put the gauge as in Major Searights tank. Until, we come on to the latest 20 HP. we have no WW. scheme shewing the position of the gauge. The Second position will have to be used where a customer demands both a R-R.{Sir Henry Royce} mechanical gauge and the K-S gauge. We propose to run the gauge in the second position on one of our cars as we have not yet tried it. Will you therefore please return the drawings after perusal.
