In connection with the above, Mr Fairey's car requires modification, as also of course the standard adaption. The bumper bar must be moved forward by increasing the length of the abutment pieces fitted to the front dumb irons, but as this may not give sufficient clearance to avoid trapping the hand it appears necessary to put a double joggle in plan view in the spring portion of the bar, so as to displace the centre portion in a forward direction.
