1328 Experimental Dept. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.14/MH.{M. Huckerby} 15th. June 1938. The Drayton Regulator & Instrument Co. Ltd., WEST DRAYTON, MIDDLESEX. PCL 101/REA/MH{M. Huckerby}/RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} cots Letter 10/6/38 For the attention of Mr.Wingfield. Dear Sirs, We have recently received a letter signed by your Mr.R.E.Ashton, of which copy is attached, which was addressed to our Bentley Service Dept., Messrs. Bentley Motors Ltd. As our Service Dept. does not, of course, dictate engineering policy, the letter has been passed back to the writer, and we gather from it and the print attached that you are contemplating going into production with a replica of the Harrison thermostat which the writer lent Mr. Wingfield. We are unable to give you a definite negative or affirmative to your question, because as explained to Mr.Wingfield, we are at present using the type of unit which cuts off a bypass circuit - if the price of your unit were sufficiently attractive to justify the modifications which it would necessitate to our system, then after tests to stabilise its reliability we would certainly consider adopting it. The writer would be glad if you would return the Harrison unit which he lent you, at your earliest convenience. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
