HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} (At Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence.) C. to SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} C. to RG.{Mr Rowledge} C. to DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} re. CHINA 4. VISIT TO LE CANADELHenry Royce's French residence. 18-EX. ETC. I am not expecting to see any drawings about China 4. unless there are some drastic changes, when someone who can be spared should bring them here. It seems very improbable that you or Mr. Rowledge or Mr. Elliott will be coming here this season unless something unforseen should arise, and if it would be economical I could arrange for Dodd to bring 18-EX. for improvements - (1) To reduce the feeling of torque reactions at 18/23 MPH., by altering the engine mounting. (2) To alter the flywheel (to put up the 65/70 MPH. vibration) by lightening, stiffening, and less overhang. No. (2) assumes that it is the flywheel and we can put up its period. The car could be returned and we would again run it under the same conditions. R.{Sir Henry Royce} [Handwritten numbers in top right corner] x8997. x634. X7005.
