(1) SPRINGS.

The latest springs supplied by Woodheads have the following improvements:-

(1) No nibs and slots,
(2) Ground between leaves,
(3) Minimum variation of curvature from plate to plate.

These have been tested and found that they are an improvement as regards strength but they still have the fault of the leaves squeaking.

The Conference very fully realised that this modified type of spring is even now not satisfactory but the position is such that we cannot stop production, as we have no alternative which has passed tests and been standardised.

Having realised the above situation and in order to avoid possible loss in the future, Messrs Woodhead have been instructed to only manufacture 40 pairs of Springs per week.

Woodheads have promised 3 pairs of springs to Mr. Royce's design by Friday for Experimental Department.

(2) SHOCK ABSORBERS.

Reference Minute 4, dated 21/5/20:- As the Shock Absorber is not yet standardised the changeover cannot
