REPORT OF FIRST RUN OF V-CONDOR-2 SUPERCHARGER ENGINE ON 17.11.25.

Exhaust manifolds were disconnected and the engine run light for 1 hr; without turbo in action but with compressor interconnected in induction system.

Over-oiling occurred on B.1. cyl. very badly, owing to the excess oil supply to compressor bearings, most of which was being drawn into the cyls. via the induction manifolds.

Pumps for feeding these bearings are adjustable for flow by the rotation of the end plates into various positions but it was found at the time that owing to the disposition of the bolt holes no happy medium between max. flow and cessation could be struck.

A fresh set of holes were drilled in the end plates and a position found to enable an adequate flow to the bearings of the compressor without over-oiling.

The turbo out of action and the compressor as above the max. power at 1900 r.p.m. was 392 H.P. Lift being 525 lbs.

The engine was then run with the manifolds in position and turbo compressor in action.

When running the exhaust manifold and turbine very soon became red hot at full throttle, reaching a bright cherry red after half a minute or so.
