I tried some time ago to lend one to Mr. W. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Rootes as, although he had tried the car originally when it was first announced, he had never had one to himself for a few days.

I eventually arranged for him to have it over the August Bank Holiday week-end and I thought you would be interested to know how pleased he was with it.

He says:

"Really the car you so kindly lent me was a dream - its silence, coupled with its acceleration and speed - was a revelation, and an experience that I appreciated your making possible for me to have."

"It is of no value wishing it success, for it is that already - may it however, long continue."
