ASSEMBLY SCHEDULE OF BENTLEY 50 GEARBOX. The following is a list of assembly operations on the above gearbox in the sequence in which they are carried out. 1. Assemble selector shaft GB.5473, jaw GB.3472 and fork followed by the .312 diameter ball for the selector lock. 2. Assemble selector shaft GB.5474 and jaw GB.3464 with looking pin in position. Fit .312 diameter ball. 3. Fit selector shaft GB.5475 and jaw GB.3463. 4. Secure all jaws with locating screws and fit lock plate. Fit retaining screws, etc. to lockplates. 5. Screw plug E.51695 in the hole for the selector lock. 6. Assemble servo motor and drive shaft as a complete unit. 7. Fit ball race GB.3508, spring ring, distance piece and lock ring to gearbox in this sequence. 8. Fit adjusting washer and distance piece and assemble the No. 125 ball race, lightly nipping the distance piece and washer. 9. Fit wormwheel GB.5759 and distance piece. 10. Fit the driving shaft GB.3517, spring plate, bakelite washer, oil guard, Anus oil seal and adjusting washer. 11. Thread shaft into the box, picking up the various components previously placed in position. 12. Check alignment of worm with third motion shaft. 13. Assemble the overdrive gear GB.3401, washer, bush and No.145 ball race to the sleeve GB.3394. 14. Fit washer GB.3386 in position on shaft and thread on overdrive gear assembly. Fit thrust washer GB.3389. 15. Slide the locating key GB.3383 to the first hole and enter the spring and pin into the hole in the shaft. Slide key until pin locates in the counterbore of the key. continued. | ||
