Dear Sirs, We have to acknowledge receipt of your letter of the 20th.inst., in which you confirm the visit of the writer to your Works on the 19th.inst., and dealing with the various points outlined therein we would reply as follows:- (1) We are enclosing herewith our detailed drawing No.41130 of our oil slinger. It is understood that you will produce one of these in steel and submit same to us in due course for assembly to an 11" spring centre driven plate. You will note that we have increased the number of fixing screws to eight, and we are endeavouring to obtain same with larger heads than formerly. We will also arrange for a peening operation on the hub as discussed, but in the meantime are pleased to have your confirmation that the oil slinger will not be required until we receive your further advice. (2) We will immediately carry out modifications required to 13 1/2 plate No.4 upon receipt of same, and reface with special Hyco linings. In the meantime we are endeavouring to obtain the necessary friction characteristics of this material, and enquiring as to the facilities for producing same in England. Con't........ | ||
