With regard to the modification required to the battery cross member and the squab plate, it is undesirable to make the squab plate anything but straight right across, as shaped squabs should be avoided. In this case it will be necessary to loop the battery cross member rearwards to a position above the axle casing and behind the rearmost corner of the squab plate. The step of the squab plate can be lowered from ½" to 1" according to the position chosen for the main portion of the cross member.

Mr.Ward pointed out that if this alteration is carried into effect it will be necessary to alter the roof line of the standard body.

Unless the body is lengthened the luggage space will be curtailed by the amount the rear seat is moved. The general effect of such an alteration on the behaviour of the car on the road will be taken up with Sales.
