Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} at W. Hn.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders}18/MK.15.7.36. Van Vooren Body on B.23-AE. We conveyed to the leading coach-builders your favourable impression of this pillarless Saloon built on silent bloc principles and suggested that they should investigate for themselves the advantages of the system. Park Ward evinced considerable interest and Mr. Ward hoped to have an opportunity of seeing and possibly trying the car whilst he was at the works yesterday. We have not yet heard whether he was successful. Four other well-known London coach-builders, each of whom build a number of bodies for Bentley chassis, have asked whether they can see the car in London. In addition, one has told us that they intend to send a representative across to Paris if he can look over the Van Vooren works there. We have offered to do what we can with the help of Sr. to arrange for this visit. Is there any chance of the car coming to London for the best part of a day, please, for a representative of each of the very interested coach-builders to look over it and perhaps take a short run in it? Having aroused so much interest, we would like, if possible, to give the coach-builders concerned a chance of learning what they can from an inspection of the body, but we are afraid we cannot get all of them to send to the works and in any case we question whether you would want them all there at the present time.
