Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} C. to Wor. {Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} C. to BY. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} X4118 Hm {Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} /WW5/W20.12.28. S. W. Pilling Esq., Welton Hall, Nr.Brough, East Yorks. 20HP. Chassis GYL-62. You will no doubt recollect the noisy Shock Absorber trouble in the case of the above car, and particularly the last attempt made to satisfy this Owner, by fitting new rear Hydraulic Shock Absorbers which had been manufactured in accordance with the latest practice. There is no doubt that when the latest set of shock absorbers had been fitted, the results appeared to be quite satisfactory, and the car was handed over to the Owner in that condition. We have now received a further complaint letter from Mr.Pilling, copy of which is attached hereto, from which you will see that knocks have appeared in the special pair of shock absorbers, and something will have to be done to mollify Mr.Pilling again. Will you therefore please go into the matter and let us have your suggestion as early as possible. We would specially draw your attention to the fact that the special rear shock absorbers have only been on the car approximately 6 weeks. Hm {Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} /WW. | ||
