Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} By } FROM DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Oy. } X4038 Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/Evl/M27.6.30. X.4038 X.5460 X.5470 PETROL GAUGE R.{Sir Henry Royce} has instructed us to make the following changes to the petrol gauge :- (1) A slightly larger dia. gauge glass, and one longer than is necessary for the scale. (2) A reservoir at the top of the gauge glass to spill into and a small hole to atmosphere. (3) A longer back leg of small dia. with a corresponding reduction in the length of the scale. (4) The abolition of the balance pipe. (5) The abolition of the hand pump. To make this possible we are sending you a design of a petrol tank having the following features :- (a) a central vent to the tank, (b) the latest type of Sprengall pump delivering outside air, (c) a vent from the bell into the tank main vent and a 40/1000 hole at the base of the bell, (d) a short filler only level with the top of the tank. We hope to let you have the design of the tank by the time you have obtained the fitings for the petrol gauge. Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
