Dear Sirs,

We are in receipt of your letter of the 26th inst., with reference to K.S.292 (T.8208). We would have written you previously on this matter, but we were under the impression that this design had been submitted to your department by Mr.Bailey's department, and that you were therefore acquainted with its nature.

Firstly, we are definitely in agreement with you that this design would be dangerous if the tank unit top were to be finally attached at your works, and the car run,(as would inevitably happen in certain instances), with the front end of the lines uncoupled.

The only conditions under which we should imagine that this design could possibly be made successful in practical
