be presented to the British Customs, together with a Declaration that repairs had been carried out, no difficulty should result in securing the release, under a Bill of Store. I also pointed out that in this connection our Representative at Newhaven would give every possible assistance and upon hearing from them that the car was arriving, I would only too willing to instruct our Representative what to do.

You mention in the third paragraph of your letter of the 12th instant that your Representative, who brought the chassis over to England, had quite a long conversation with our Representatives at Dieppe and Newhaven, and I am wondering whether you could give me the date on which the importation of the chassis took place, because this may enable me to see a little day-light through what appears to be complications or misunderstandings.

If you would kindly let me have with your reply the documents establishing that the British duty had been paid on the body-work of the car, and at the same time let me know when this body will be arriving at Newhaven, I shall be only too ready and willing to take up matters on your behalf with the Customs, and assist the General Transport Co., Limited all I possibly can.

Yours faithfully,

F.{Mr Friese} P. Armstrong
SECRETARY.
