40 m/m.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Type 'BD{Mr Berend}' Naval Gun.

We attach hereto copy of brief report received by our Mechanic, Morley, concerning installation of the first production gun No.S.4870 for service trials.

Lt.Comm. Young will no doubt advise you officially of the points mentioned in Items 1 and 3, but so far as the armour shields are concerned, the second complete mounting was due to arrive at Southampton at mid-day today and will presumably be in time for the firing trials which it is now understood are postponed until Friday the 27th inst.
