Condenser Paper. WST x6113

With reference to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.6/MA.18.5.33, the condenser paper used on production is manufactured by Messrs. Brittons, No.321521 and is waxed and cut to width by Messrs. Symons.

We received samples of this paper last September and submitted them to you for test with others and you reported that these were satisfactory in your Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst1/KT.1.10.32.

Upon this recommendation we ordered the bulk quantity for production.

We cannot therefore reject this paper as you suggest, holding up production.

It is our standard practice to buy this class of material in bulk and when we need more supplies and cannot get a repeat supply of identically the same material, to have samples and submit them to the Experimental Department for test.

The consignment we are now using is the only one we have received and you have suggested that we should use it for the ignition coil as well, but this has not been done as we have sufficient paper from a different source of supply for the time being.

We suggest therefore that a sample of the present production paper be tested and the figures compared with those of the samples.

We cannot think that our suppliers would deliberately send us one sample and something entirely different for the bulk supply.

We have before us your memo reference Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.19/MA.14.4.33, approving of waxed paper for production and we have concluded that this refers to the condenser paper now used on production.
