re SHORT MONOPLANE R24/31
--------------------------

(1) Sparking Plug Screens

Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst
Note. "I have examined the screens fitted to the above, and all are in good condition.

Where the plugs are of the normal end type (not ball ended) the screens are hard to fit as the plug end is too long and the screens will only just go on, and it is hard to tell if the screen has locked round the hexagon properly."

(2) Exhaust Pipes

Lr.{Mr Ellor}
Note. "Short's rang up Mr.Ellor this afternoon re exhaust pipes. Mr.Ellor cannot get any through for a fortnight and the position now is that we are waiting for the A.I.D. to grant permission for the present ones to be re-welded.

Two pipes are O.K., one with a small crack and the fourth has started to crack along a re-weld."
