1360 (Experimental Dept.) Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}8/R.{Sir Henry Royce} 7th December, 1936. P. Worth, Esq., The India Tyre & Rubber Co.,Ltd., Inchinnan, SCOTLAND. Dear Mr. Worth, Thank you for your letter of 4th December. I note what you say about the inner tubes. We have not yet settled anything with regard to the 6 x 17" tyres. There is still a considerable difference of opinion with regard to their road holding qualities. The fact that they are so sensitive to tyre pressures is a questionable attribute. We have tried some Dunlop tyres out of the same size, and the road holding appears to be better. We are confirming this; if, on further investigation, the Dunlop tyres maintain their superiority we will let you know, and then we can discuss the matter. Yours sincerely, | ||
