rearmost wing stay further forward in the case of the R.R. wing stays, this cannot be done due to the fact that it would interfere with the position of the engine torque re-action damper. This applies to present production Phantoms and EAC.8 with R.R. wing stays.

We were instructed in DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/M2.12.26. to cancel the bonnet catch shown on N.Sch.2312, although they had apparently been produced and fitted to EAC.7 (14-EX). Our impression is that R.{Sir Henry Royce} does not approve of this scheme as proved by the fact that an entirely new design was received later.

We think you will find that coachbuilders in the majority of cases do not follow our scheme of running the headlamp inside the front wing stay.
