Percy F.Chaplin Esq.

Mr.Percy Chaplin, who is having trouble with his 40/50 Rolls-Royce car owing to over-oiling, in spite of the fact that we have fitted new rings, writes as follows:

'I quite appreciate that it is your intention to rectify this fault and my reason for writing you this letter is because I am wondering if a great deal of the trouble is not caused through the Breather Pipe Connection between the Crank-case and the Carburettor. At high speeds it would seem that a large quantity of oil is sucked through this tube into the Carburettor and so into the motor. A certain amount is undoubtedly good for the valves but it occurs to me that, at high speeds, a little more gets through than the Plugs appreciate. When the motor is not misfiring, it runs very nicely indeed, otherwise, and the Brakes are splendid.'

Please investigate this suggestion and let me know the result.
