110H PERSONAL THE MG CAR COMPANY LTD PROPRIETORS MORRIS MOTORS LTD ABINGDON-ON-THAMES TELEPHONE 251 W.A. Robotham Esq., Rolls-Royce Ltd., Derby. Dec. 5th. 1938 My dear Robotham, Many thanks for your letter of the 2nd inst. Over the week-end Rollason and I had an opportunity of trying out one of the short chassis twelve cylinder Lagondas and were very impressed with it. How it compares with your latest 4¼ Bentley I do not know as I have not had an opportunity of trying one, but perhaps I may have this opportunity when I pay you my promised visit. The question of bearings was the least of our difficulties as far as Gardner's record breaking machine was concerned, but I would certainly like to come up and talk to you about bearings generally, and it might interest you if I brought Enever, our Experimental man along, who was primarily responsible for preparing Gardner's machine, as he would be able to give you all data concerning it far better than I could. However, I am afraid I shall have to leave this until after Christmas, but I will get in touch with you early in the New Year. Meanwhile, if it is not too soon I hope you have a good time during this coming festive season, and the best of luck during 1939. Yours sincerely, Cecil Kimber | ||
