Ref. 104(ii) Z508 Copy of minute 2 of the 104th meeting of the T.C. Mr Spinney 12/1/12. TBB3/L12112. Re Clearance for Pedals etc. with heavier Flywheel. Mr Platford reported that he had experienced trouble with the pedals fouling the flywheel guard, and of this guard fouling the flywheel by being forced out of position by the pedals. The trouble could to some extent be overcome by removing the beading on this guard. Mr Spinney informed the Committee that he had an experimental guard being made with a beveled edge and no beading; this would improve the clearance. It was also possible to overcome the difficulty by removing the clutch pedal to the right but leaving the pedal plate in its present position by mounting this plate to one side of the pedal. This would of course necessitate scrapping the slotted aluminium floor board. Another scheme would be to move the clutch pedal bodily towards the steering column, and re-designing the bracket supporting the column near this point, in order to clear the driver's left boot. This alteration to the bracket would occur on A & B types of steering, and would necessitate a special bracket for each of these types. Mr Spinney suggested a further scheme in which the pedals and floor boards | ||
