Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 1 IV 1921 C.O. From BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} SPT. c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} RECEIVED X.3898 BY2-P1.4.21. X3898 LUBRICATORS FOR 40/50 CHASSIS. It should be noted that we should not get too far ahead with the manufacture of R.R. type lubricators, as Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} informs me that it is most probable that we shall do away with them in the near future and adopt some form of grease or oil gun, by which the oil is forced through a special fitting into the bearing, under pressure. I am afraid that we shall have already got fairly well away with these for all series which have been ordered up, as they represent a simple straight forward automatic job, but if R.{Sir Henry Royce} series has not been made it should be held up for the present. The Lubricator most used is T.2542/3. In addition possibly G.2462 may be affected. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
