C O P Y. BJ. C/Hn{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders}7/MH{M. Huckerby}9.2.24. Re DIPPING HEAD LIGHTS. With reference to your note on Memo. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}7/LG30.1.24, attached, I beg to give you below an extract from the minutes of the meeting of the C.S.C. on the 6th inst. at which were present:- L.H.S.{Lord Herbert Scott - Chair} (in the Chair). C. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} HO. Hn.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders} and at which this matter was discussed. "DIPPING HEADLIGHTS. It was reported that the experimental 20 h.p. car fitted with the Company's design of dipping headlight mechanism was seen by C. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} and HO. on 1.2.24. As the headlight scheme was evidently in the experimental stages it was not possible to prepare a detailed criticism, but the use of wire and exposed springs was not liked. It was also observed that the lamps dip thirteen six-teenths of an inch as compared with the two and a quarter inch dip given by the Barker mechanism." Memo. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/LG31.1.24 is also attached. I might add that Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} has been provided with a copy of the minute quoted above. Hn.{F. C.
