-2- 7th. December 1937. attributed to a lower coefficient for the Thermoid in front to the BZ at the rear. (Thermoid not available for the Girling shoes). The pedal pressure was very high due to - (a) Lower co-efficient of present linings than R.U. fitted before, but which was not satisfactory. (b) Reduced rear braking (to obtain more front without increasing servo movement). The pedal pressure has been reduced to a reasonable figure by fitting a 1.5" in place of 1.18" input lever on the servo countershaft. This also increases the pedal travel, but it remains within reasonable limits. The system is now considered suitable for testing the Girling rear brakes.
