We wish to send this car to France in three weeks or a month in order to get further experience of Hall's metal bearings. Will you therefore please modify the car to - CHASSIS. (1) Front roll rod Ex.22110 and 3½" deflection front springs, Firth's drawing 174. (2) Aluminium brakes, front and rear, N.Sch.4796/8. (3) Cross steering tube modifications, N.Sch.4797, 4800. (4) Rear axle with extended pinion shaft to N.Sch.4610 but the pinion nose bearing inner race to be integral with the pinion. (One Ex. drawing required). (5) Exhaust System - (a) Straight through downtake pipe from manifold to second expansion box - made in mild steel 14 SWG. aluminized the whole length, lagged with .312" asbestos rope. (b) EB-421 silencer shell in 16 SWG. - S/M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} (c) EB-1504 sleeve in 16 SWG. - S/M instead of staybright. (d) EB-978 rear intermediate pipe in 16 SWG. - S/M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} (e) Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}10 rear silencer - shell and top hats in 16 SWG. and end pieces in 14 SWG. - S/M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} (f) Tail pipe 1.500" dia. instead of 2.00" dia. in 16 SWG. material.
