For the attention of Mr. N. R.{Sir Henry Royce} Chandler.

Dear Sirs,

RE:- 13 1/2" BORGLITE DRIVEN PLATE FOR PHANTOM III.

We are in receipt of your letter of the 11th. instant and are pleased to note your interest in the above type driven plate and to receive your agreement to place sample on trial.

As advised we have already made up a sample driven plate suitable for the above application and we propose to hold this at our Works pending your forthcoming visit, and as referred to in separate letter of even date.

Whilst a road trial is the only way of actually proving performance of driven plate, at the same time it has occurred to us that the small deflection which the Borglite plate possesses as compared with the Long type plate might be an advantage, owing to the better shape of curve which the former possesses.

We agree that it may be possible to arrange the Borglite type of construction for the Phantom III model in which the segments are rivetted directly to your hub, but we have adopted the present construction with a view to utilising your standard hub construction for the purposes of experiment.

Yours faithfully,
BORG & BECK COMPANY LIMITED.
