6 volt accumulators at 7° Fahr. It should certainly be sufficient for one test of a 12 volt starter accumulator. We break up the Cardice with a hammer into large lumps and pack it around the accumulator, keeping it away from actual contact by a sheet iron frame slightly larger than the accumulator. The fall in temperature is of course slow, and it may require 12 hours cooling before the desired temperature is reached. The Cardice should be handled with rubber gloves on.
