BY3/J.28.8.30.

Cylinder Liners in Nitralloy Steel.

With reference to R2/M.22.8.30, in connection with the above, we are informed that we have succeeded in producing three cylinder liners in nitralloy steel without distortion in accordance with the improved method of machining these liners suggested by us.

Originally 15 billets of steel were ordered to produce 'F' type liners in nitralloy of which we believe six or eight have been used.

There should therefore, be a further quantity of billets available if it is considered desirable to produce further liners.

We should suggest that half a set of these liners be produced and tried out in an engine.
