X 2572 EFC. from BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} C.C. to Mr Brock. X-2512 CHASSIS - CONDENSERS. Referring again to the question of the Dubilier Condenser, and further to my memo EY4-P23221, on the same subject, I feel very alarmed indeed to find that four of these condensers have broken down, out of probably about 20 put on test, and as you will notice from my previous memo I have instructed that these condensers should be taken out of service for reconsideration, and before we go any further in regard to using them I feel it is absolutely essential that we should take a number of these condensers, which have passed the first test, from Mr Brock, and give them a series of tests, in order to try whether they will break down under fairly normal conditions. Would you therefore devise some test which would make one feel safe in saying that they were either right or wrong. At present they have passed one of our tests and apparently were alright, but directly they got on the chassis they failed, and this is an experience we have never had with those of our own manufacture.
