ENGINE UNIT -2-

Connecting Rods. RR. Scheme 107*

1. Connecting Rods in good condition.
2. Slight scores in small end bushes. Very little wear in bores.
3. Oil pipe solder broken away at big end on No.5 Rod.
4. Connecting Rod Bearings
Rod half - whitemetal badly cracked and broken away in all bearings except No.1.
No.3. bearing is the worst.
Cap half - Nos. 1 & 2 are good. Remainder cracked and metal broken away.

Pistons. LeC 3158. 6-1 comp. ratio.

1. Condition generally good.
2. All ring stops are intact.
3. Nos. 1. 2 & 5 - the bedding is rather poor on the split side of pistons, one half of the split portion appears to have receded due to slight distortion. No.6. is scored slightly on pressure side.
4. Piston rings are exceptionally good.
5. Gudgeon pins good except for slight scores on diameters.

Cylinder Head. LeC 3159

1. General condition good.
2. Valve seats slightly pocketted. One or two lightly pitted.
3. Valve Guides Good.

Valves & Fittings. LeC 3159.

1. Poundage of all springs low as follows:-

7 off - 41 1/2 lbs.)
3 " - 40 1/2 " )
1 " - 39 1/2 " ) Drawing loading 45 lbs +- 1 lb.
1 " - 42 1/2 " )
