To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} re Patented Carburetter. No.18801/34. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}8/E18.7.34

I enclose copy of letter received from a Mr.Jas. Marchbank, which is self-explanatory. As he has patented the carburetter, it is safe for us to see it and it looks as if we ought at least to accept his offer to send us one to try.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} I am not quite sure, however, whether this should be dealt with by E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} or Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} I imagine the latter because it is experimental at this stage.

Whoever is going to deal with it could write direct and ask him to send a sample carburetter along and then I should like to have a report about it in due course. It may be hopeless but on the other hand it may be very good.
