For attention of Mr.H.E.West.

Dear Sirs,

We are in receipt of your letter reference "Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.2/MA" of the 16th instant, and thank you for drawing our attention to the need for some practical device by which the level of the electrolyte in a car starter battery can readily be determined. With this incentive we hope to be able to evolve something suitable.

With regard to Alklum batteries, we have been under the impression that we knew their advantages and disadvantages completely, but from the claims cited in your letter, we have apparently still something to learn and will make the necessary investigations at once, until which time we are unable to give you a reply on the points raised.

Yours faithfully,

THE CHLORIDE ELECTRICAL STORAGE COMPANY, LTD.

E C McKinnon

Chief Engineer.
