Lamps Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}11/ML. 28.3.41. G.Lucas, Esq., Messrs Joseph Lucas & Co.Ltd., Great King Street, BIRMINGHAM.19. Dear Lucas, Thank you for your letter of the 20th. March. It was our original intention that the lamp outer shell should be a fixture on the wing or catwalk so placed that the lamp faces should lie in a vertical plane relative to the ground. The adjustment of the beams would be effected by a setting of the reflector, which should be carried out as on the lamps for the Corniche. This lamp had a reflector in which the adjustment consisted of a 3-point mounting, each point having a screw adjustment. Such a system of adjustment has to be used where the lamp body is wholly or in part a portion of the wing or catwalk. Yours sincerely, | ||
