-2- C.J. from F.H.R. (Contd.) the slackness beneficial to allow for deflections and avoid seized pins which may result in broken spring. We previously made the bushes a close fit and experience taught us that greater freedom was advisable. Some, at least, of other first-class makers also leave spring pins free in springs. We have not found any ill effects from doing so. We must do something to make this matter right if wrong, and please Mr.Richards. Testers, experimenters, and Mr.Spinney, should have investigated this before sending it to me with their report of the trouble arising. F.H.R. | ||
